My children shoots generally last around 1 ½ – 2 hours and can either be at home, somewhere special or a mixture of the two. I find the best shoots usually happen when people are in an environment they feel comfortable in and, whilst the location is important, I tend to focus more on faces, expressions and all the little moments which always occur when people are out and about and simply enjoying spending time together.
We’ll talk before your shoot so that I can give you some advice on the best things for everyone to wear and whether or not it’s worth bringing along a change of clothes – please contact me so that I can send you my children’s photography preparation sheet. I always spend time getting to know everyone before we start taking any pictures and will make sure that the entire experience is relaxed and enjoyable. No-one is expected to perform and the photography bit only starts when everyone’s good and ready.
Once your images have been edited I will contact you so that I can arrange to show them to you for the first time. Whilst I love and embrace the flexibility of digital photography I firmly believe that beautiful photographs aren’t only for albums or, worse still, to be left forgotten on computers or hard drives. For this reason I will also encourage you to mount and frame some of your favourite pictures so that you and your loved ones can continue to cherish them for many years to come. I work with a small number of album, frame and canvas suppliers who produce a beautiful range of traditional and contemporary options. I will show you a selection of albums, frames, mounts and canvasses so that we can choose the products that are right for you.
