My dog shoots generally last between 1-2 hours and can either be taken at home, somewhere special or a mixture of the two. It’s often nice to capture some quiet moments at home and, when we’re photographing a dog, some out and about shots where they can run freely and generally have a good time. I will contact you before the shoot in order to understand what sorts of images you’d like and so that we can agree the best approach for both you and your dog.
The success of these shoots is sometimes determined by how well behaved the dog is or by how many of you there are to help out! If your dog tends to have a mind of it’s own it’s really helpful if there are two of you to dish out the treats and hold the dog if a ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ is likely to fall on deaf ears! Whatever happens though, pet shoots are great fun and dogs always look fabulous – regardless of age or size!
Once your images have been edited I will contact you so that I can arrange to show them to you for the first time. Whilst I love and embrace the flexibility of digital photography I firmly believe that beautiful photographs aren’t only for albums or, worse still, to be left forgotten on computers or hard drives. For this reason I will also encourage you to mount and frame some of your favourite pictures so that you and your loved ones can continue to cherish them for many years to come. I work with a small number of album, frame and canvas suppliers who produce a beautiful range of traditional and contemporary options. I will show you a selection of albums, frames, mounts and canvasses so that we can choose the products that are right for you.
