I was introduced to Kate through a mutual friend and delighted when she and Mick asked me to take their wedding photos earlier this year. Mick is originally from Bristol and they wanted to create a small, intimate family wedding, which was a little bit different. They chose Bristol as the location, were married in the Bristol Registry Office and had a drinks reception in the Brooks Guest House. They then surprised everyone (including me) with a surprise river boat trip, which took the wedding party to the Riverstation Restaurant for their wedding breakfast. It was, without doubt, one of the loveliest weddings I have ever photographed – a great couple and a great day.
When a bride and groom walk through a city or town between locations during their wedding the atmosphere is always such good fun – most people are so generous with their spontaneous wishes whilst others can’t quite believe what they’ve just seen! The couples desire to create something less ordinary was greatly enhanced by a photo-bomb from a flock of penguins and a flock of ‘Spanish’ Flamenco dancers. Apparently there was something other than their wedding going on in Bristol on that day and it certainly all helped to create a wonderful party atmosphere. Well done you two – a thoroughly great day!
