My maternity shoots generally are very relaxed and generally last about an hour. They can either be taken at home, somewhere special or a mixture of the two. The best time for maternity photography is between 32 to 36 weeks and, as I tend to arrange my photography sessions 3-4 weeks ahead, please make sure you contact me book up well in advance.
I will contact you before the shoot so that we can talk about the style of photography that’s right for you and I can also advise you on the sorts of things to wear and have ready. Although I have plenty of little props and ideas, it’s a lovely idea to include something special you have that’s waiting for the arrival of your baby – a tiny pair of boots or a special toy would be perfect.
Once your images have been edited I will contact you so that I can arrange to show them to you for the first time. Whilst I love and embrace the flexibility of digital photography I firmly believe that beautiful photographs aren’t only for albums or, worse still, to be left forgotten on computers or hard drives. For this reason I will also encourage you to mount and frame some of your favourite pictures so that you and your loved ones can continue to cherish them for many years to come. I work with a small range of album, frame and canvas suppliers who produce a beautiful range of traditional and contemporary options. I will show you a selection of albums, frames, mounts and canvasses so that we can choose the products that are right for you.
