I think this was one of the first equine shoots I did on the New Forest and it is still one of my all time favourite shoots. Emily and smudge grew up in the New Forest and clearly make the most of living in this wonderful place. We met on the forest for the photography and I will never forget watching Emily and Smudge canter off at the end of the day – jumping every gorse bush in sight!

Smudge is an exceptionally well behaved New Forest pony who has the most amazing presence and seem to know what equine photography is all about. He always seems to stand perfectly and his ears seem to be permanently fixed in the forward position!
